New green bean bin design.

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

Just a couple pictures of a green-bean bin we designed and built for a client. The viewing window in the front is an easy way to measure the volume of the green. We can add weight sensors but it is more expensive and the bulk density of green coffee doesn’t change that much from one coffee to the next. So using it to measure volume is going to be fairly accurate. It won’t be as accurate as weighing the coffee of course, but if you want to make it more accurate you can always weigh it before you pull it up into the green bean bin. Then the window will just be for aesthetics, if you are into that sort of thing. We are going to start using this design as the standard for our green bean bin.
